Though we cannot completely prevent a respondent from copying, saving or printing information from our surveys, the following security features can be put in place:
- Disable the ctrl key: This is done using JavaScript. If a respondent has JavaScript disabled on their browser, the ctrl will still be functional.
- Disable right-click: This is also done using JavaScript. If a respondent has JavaScript disabled on their browser, right-click will still be functional.
- Prevent printing of a hard copy: The printer menu will still appear, but the page will be blank when printed.
- Remove the Menu bar: This can be done by popping up the survey in a new window. Respondents would be sent to a regular web page containing a link to “Begin the Survey”. Upon clicking the link, the survey would pop up in a new window without the menu bar.
It is important to note that respondents who are experienced are able to bypass these measures.
